It started with a craving for the rare and the raw. A German raw food enthusiast, driven by the search for the world’s most exotic tropical fruits, landed in Sri Lanka—and simply never looked back. What was meant to be a journey of the palate became a journey of the soul.

He didn’t just find fruit; he found home. He fell in love with a Sri Lankan lady, married, and is now the proud father of three. While he only returns to Germany once every decade, his roots here have grown deep into the tropical soil.

Building everything from scratch, he became one with the land, but the road to fulfillment wasn’t always smooth. It was a stony path of searching until he remembered the Word and decided to follow the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Today, Agape Roots is more than just an orchard exporting premium fruits to Germany. Together with his wife, he has opened their world to guests from across the globe. It is a place where the wild hospitality of the Sri Lankan jungle meets the sweetness of top-tier fruit and the unshakable foundation of Christian joy.

The Suspended Treehouse (12m High & Free-Floating)

A masterpiece of eco-engineering and a true canopy sanctuary. Suspended 12 meters high, this architectural marvel is supported entirely by the tree itself, allowing you to live inside the jungle crown.

The Jungle Rock Suite (Pond View & Open-Air Bath)

Tucked into our main lodge but featuring its own separate entrance for absolute privacy, this unique eco-suite blends rustic charm with mindful comfort.

The Highlight: A breathtaking, open-air bathroom built directly into the natural jungle rocks with a hand-laid stone floor. The Space: Features a cozy double bed, an extra single bed, and a private glass-roofed porch directly overlooking a peaceful pond. Unwind in the hammock, or use the dedicated workspace and outdoor dining table for four.

The Open-Air Jungle Lodge (Waterfall & Creek View)

Embrace the ultimate indoor-outdoor living concept. Perched on an elevated wooden deck right above a rushing stream and a private waterfall plunge pool, this lodge has no walls to obstruct your view of paradise.

The Experience: Sleep under romantic mosquito nets to the soundtrack of the jungle, and soak in a freestanding bathtub with endless mountain views. The Comfort: Includes a beautifully designed, fully private, enclosed toilet house just steps away from your bed.

Meals at Agape Roots are about honest nourishment and the joy of the harvest. Anusha cooks real, healthy Sri Lankan village rice and curry—gentle on the spice but rich in flavor. You’re always welcome to join her in the kitchen to learn our family secrets.
