Where Cinnamon Meets Diversity: Our Journey to an Edible Food Forest
On our farm in the heart of Sri Lanka, something unique is taking shape: We plant genuine Ceylon cinnamon not in high-yield monoculture, but embedded within a vibrant agroforestry system. Inspired by the principles of organic permaculture, we allow an ecosystem to grow that protects the soil, conserves rainwater, and gives space back to nature.
Our Vision: An Oasis of Biodiversity
Cinnamon is the heartbeat of our project—yet it does not grow alone. In the coming years, we are transforming the land step by step into a multi-layered cinnamon and fruit forest garden featuring over 300 different plant species.
- Cinnamon & Pepper: Genuine Ceylon cinnamon and pepper climbing up Gliricidia trees.
- Tropical Fruit Diversity: From local fruit varieties to rare native wild fruits.
- The Medicinal Plant Garden: An integrated, small botanical garden featuring traditional local herbs, spices, and essential medicinal trees and shrubs.
Preserving Nature – Offering Stillness
Our approach goes beyond simple agriculture. We view this piece of land as a stewardship, respecting, caring for, and regenerating nature in all its beauty. By foregoing chemicals, working along contour lines, and encouraging natural beneficial organisms, we create a sanctuary for flora and fauna.
At the same time, a peaceful retreat for gentle eco-tourism is growing here. In the future, we will open this forest garden to people seeking to slow down: A place where guests can stroll through fragrant alleys beneath the canopy, enjoy fresh harvests straight from the tree, and immerse themselves in the untouched silence of nature.
A place where people do not work against nature, but become part of its blessing.
- Learn & Taste: Walk through our fragrant cinnamon groves, learn the traditional art of peeling cinnamon bark, and taste real Ceylon cinnamon fresh from the tree.
- Take the Harvest Home: We harvest and process our cinnamon naturally. You can purchase fresh, pure Ceylon cinnamon bark and powder directly at our farm store to take a piece of Sri Lanka back home with you.
